BrightSide Coaching comes from Philippians 4:8: Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.

Some of my core beliefs are that:

• We are all here to serve one another, no matter what our backgrounds are.
• We are here to keep learning the stuff we need to learn. ·
• Life experiences can make us bitter or better.  Choose better. ·
• Faith can squelch out a whole lot of anxiety. ·
• We can’t fully love the world if we lose our loved ones in the process. · Grace is God’s most incredible gift. ·
• Integrity is the foundation to a life of freedom. ·
• Love begets more love. And more and more … · Most of the time we take ourselves far too seriously. ·
• Laughter and having FUN are the breath of a well-lived life.

Personal Stuff:

I am a bit of an old hippie (although I was just born in the 60’s)! I’ve been called “a wise, old soul” since I was a child. I am Jesus’ girl and love learning more about how He would live if He was walking the streets today (and I believe He is). I am happily married and the very proud (and grateful!) Mom to three young adults and two stepsons. I adore my girlfriends (we’re just a little on the crazy side!) and have a rich social life, which provides the fun I need to balance out the more monastic and quiet aspects of my life, which I also love.   

I believe in things like risk-taking missions, conversion of lives, service to community, grace, healing, and social transformation. I have a deep passion for urban ministry, in listening to the stories of my homeless friends.  

Some people who have influenced my thinking are amazing people like Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King, Jr., Richard Foster, and Shane Claiborne. They are world changers. I aspire to change the world too … not for the glory of it, but because I am called to do so. I want be an integral link to the community around me. I want to paint a backdrop of life and love throughout our world, leaving my portion of this planet a better place.
